Participants will engage in practical and thought-provoking sessions that connect contemporary arts research and trends to targeted arts initiatives at multiple levels within schools, districts, and beyond. Content will be explored through field experiences that include visits to content sessions throughout the Academy to observe from the perspective of an arts leader. Numerous interactive discussions and webinars with state and national leaders are also part of the innovative curriculum
In this conversation with Julie Cohen Theobald, participants will explore examples of leading for growth in various contexts. Theobald will share her experiences as a leader in both business and education and will offer lessons that can be applied in other settings as well.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has been saturating the education narrative in response to the mental health crisis faced by students and arts educators across our country. In this session, the presenter will explore ways that the arts can be fertile ground for artistic SEL instruction and describe ways to intentionally and organically integrate the approach into artistic processes.
